Rita Mihalaki

Rita was born in Holland and raised in Molyvos, Lesvos. At the age of 8 her family moved to the city of Thessaloniki but they continued to come back to Molyvos every summer. Rita has always ridden horses. She used to compete in show jumping. After her studies in the United Kingdom, she work with horses in the UK and in Greece, but she was always kept coming back to her first love, the beautiful island of Lesvos. She decided to move back to the picturesque village of Molyvos and to combine her two great passions: horses and Molyvos. She opened a horseriding yard in 2012 and started teaching riding lessons to all levels. In addition, she takes people horseback riding on trails in the mountains and along the beaches in the surrounding area. After all these years, Rita has helped many people learn how to be around and respect this beautiful animal, using methods such as horsemanship. People have a chance to come closer to horses, lose any sort of fear they may have and learn to develop a language of communication.
