{"id":4502,"date":"2021-03-03T09:00:09","date_gmt":"2021-03-03T09:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euphoria-lesvos.com\/?p=4502"},"modified":"2021-03-01T08:45:43","modified_gmt":"2021-03-01T08:45:43","slug":"beginners-guide-to-meditation-and-meditation-routine-by-angie-johnson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/euphoria-lesvos.com\/el\/2021\/03\/03\/beginners-guide-to-meditation-and-meditation-routine-by-angie-johnson\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Beginners Guide to Meditation and Meditation Routine&#8221; by  Angie Johnson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>by <a title=\"Angie Johnson\" href=\"https:\/\/euphoria-lesvos.com\/el\/%ce%b4%ce%ac%cf%83%ce%ba%ce%b1%ce%bb%ce%bf%ce%b9\/angie-johnson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Angie Johnson<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I get a lot of questions and comments about meditation.<\/p>\n<p>How do I start?<br \/>\nI can\u2019t clear my head<br \/>\nHow long?<br \/>\nI don\u2019t have time &#8211; What time of day is better?<\/p>\n<h4>Here\u2019s what I do in the morning.<\/h4>\n<p>I create a space &#8211; usually with candles, a comfortable seat, and some essential oils.<\/p>\n<p>I make coffee and smell and hold the hot liquid &#8211; it\u2019s soothing for me.<\/p>\n<p>I play music in a noise cancelling headset &#8211; sometimes with words, sometimes with no words.<\/p>\n<p>I read an affirmation that\u2019s automatically generated for me on an application called\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/mantra-daily-affirmations\/id1202851636\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/mantra-daily-affirmations\/id1202851636&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1614668674117000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGZ5ehZWfPNYvXfvMAIGKLqkrRp5A\">Mantra<\/a>. You could also try an Affirmation card deck. I just recently started doing this. I notice that it brings me into a headspace.<\/p>\n<p>Then I write it and reflect on the affirmation if anything comes up.<\/p>\n<p>I journal my day (so that I don\u2019t go through this checklist in my head later). My journal and planner are combined. I write down my affirmation, my daily to do&#8217;s, wellness routines, food journal and anything else I need to remind myself.<\/p>\n<p>Then I sit with my notebook nearby and if a thought comes up and it won\u2019t let go, I write it down. And come back to my practice.<\/p>\n<p>I concentrate on my breath &#8211; inhaling and exhaling so I can hear and feel the breath.\u00a0I do a body scan and try to notice any tension or discomfort. This morning I noticed that my back was in some discomfort &#8211; so I changed my position to lying in savasana &#8211; this helped me to release and I put my hands on my stomach and let it float up and down. It was better for me, so notice if you need to change positions.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes (when sitting up) I sip my coffee with my eyes closed. For me this is like a gentle pause &#8211; a moment to use my senses.<\/p>\n<p>There are no rules to mediating. Give yourself permission to make this your time and make it what you need.<\/p>\n<p>Ask yourself why you need meditation and what result you want from it.<\/p>\n<p>Personally for me, I use the morning to get focused but I will come back to this anytime in the day when I notice myself scattered.<\/p>\n<h4>The most important takeaway: there are no rules to meditation, only the attempt to feel it and understand how it works for you.<\/h4>\n<p>Take some tips and tricks and play with it.
