Poliana is an artistic and cultural non-profit organization based in the town of Mytilini. Our workshop, located in the centre, is where we teach art and hold events,i.e.exhibits,music,presentations etc. Our name POLIANA comes from the Greek POLITISTIKI ANAZITISI meaning, literally, cultural exploration.

The organization is made up of four women: Katie Karakondis , Irini Ferveli, Els Maes and Anique Dounias who live and work on the island of Lesvos, Greece.

Besides our regular activities at our workshop, we, as Poliana, are motivated to unveil the rich past of the island through cultural walks, and on site painting and drawing. These activities open the eyes of newcomers, as well as the local inhabitants, to the heritage of the island.
