Yioula Koutsoubou
Graduated agronomist. Specialized in transforming trash into art pieces or useful items. Has also created a technique for making murals out of waste materials. She has been leading environmental education projects & workshops around the world since 2010. She is experienced in working with different age groups such as children, teenagers, middle age women and men; as well as people with special challenges and at social risk. Also, community leaders, indigenous, refugees & immigrants, persons deprived of freedom, adults in rehabilitation, students of all levels and university academic staff members .Through her work she encourages the creation of economic alternatives in local communities while reinforcing the concepts of collaboration and solidarity through environmentally friendly reuse practices. The last 6 years she has been running the Humade Crafts Workshop of Lesvos Solidarity, a local NGO in Mitilene, sharing her skills with refugees, migrants and locals alike.
